I Wait for Each Sunrise 6/28/13

There is a funny relationship in nature.

Imagine a plant, a tiny sapling maybe. This sapling depends on the sun to rise every single day to give it the energy it needs to live. Without the sun the plant surely would slump over and die in a few short days. Every time the sapling sees the sun rise it knows that it can make it though any trouble it faces that day because the sun gives it that hope. On the other hand the sun does not notice the plant. Down below the sun has many plants that it must take care of, and for lack of a better phrase could care less if there were any plants at all. The sapling goes unnoticed in the fields of trees around it.

So it's a funny relationship, one object depending so heavily on the attention of the other, and that other object not needing anything from the desiring object.

I hate being a plant staring up at the sun.
